Easter Events 2017

The Donkey's Droppings

A successful event organised by our uniformed groups for all children in the local community to learn the Easter Story through the eye's of a donkey. The children completed the costumes and props with help from members of our congregation.  We were looking to involve all ages and our main costume designer is over 90 years of age. The children  were involved in Easter activities , games and crafts when not rehearsing for the play. The director of the production was  a 15 year old  Asian student from our local secondary school.  The object of the day was to bring together old and young from our multi cultural community.  The day was enjoyed by all.

The Devil's Passion

Easter in Hell

A Divine comedy, written and performed by Justin Butcher was staged at St James the Great at the end of March 2017. Many of those in our audience would agree with David Suchet . "It was one of the most remarkable evenings I have spent in the theatre"

A very thought provoking performance , but don't take our word for it. If you missed the performance at St James the play is to be adapted and will be recorded in July for BBC Radio. David Suchet is playing the lead role and the performance will be broadcast on Radio 3 in September.
